FAQ's

why is sugar better than wax?

sugaring is a form of hair removal just like wax, it will still take your hair up from the root. the difference with sugar is that it is melted at/around room temperature (no possibility of burning the skin), it is made up of 3 ingredients - sugar, lemon & water. the combination of these things allows the sugar paste to melt into the hair follicle and grab it from the root. sugaring is also a great form of exfoliation because it grabs dead skin cells along with the hair! it ALSO is known to decrease the amount of ingrown hairs - this is because sugar is applied against the direction of hair growth & pulled out IN the direction of the hair growth which in turn causes less irritation/inflammation to the hair follicle. it’s my favorite service for more sensitive skin & more sensitive areas!

how long does my hair have to be to get waxed/sugared?

please allow for at least 2 weeks of growth after shaving. the length should be at least the length of a grain of rice. this is because the wax/sugar grips onto the hair to pull it out so it needs to be long enough to grab on to it!

why do i need to come back within 4-6 weeks for a wax/sugar?

consistency is key with hair removal. with your first wax/sugar your hair is going to be very dense because all of your hair is present & attached to the base(blood supply) of the hair follicle. your regrowth after your first time (coming back within 4-6 weeks) will be MUCH less dense & therefore should not be as painful as the first because less hairs are being pulled out. the goal of waxing/sugaring is to damage the blood supply to that hair follicle over time so that less & less hair will essentially grow back, because it isn’t getting as much nutrients. I also over a discounted brazilian for those that do keep up with the maintenance, i want to reward your consistency.

why shouldn't i sweat for 24 hours after getting waxed/sugared?

sweating/friction after hair removal increases the risk of bacterial infection. if you must sweat right after make sure to cleanse the area well with witch hazel or a soap with no fragrance - the fur all body wash is perfect to use for those freshly waxed areas

i want to get a wax/sugar before an event, when should I come in?

it’s always recommended to come in for a first time wax/sugar AT LEAST a week before ANY event.

i've never had a facial before, what does that look like?

we will address your skin goals before getting into your facial just so we know what we are both working towards. after addressing these we will get on to the facial! so just relax & unwind!
